The needles on the trees were shaking. Why? Didn\u2019t you notice? When winter approaches, the needles on the trees shake because Christmas is coming. And when Christmas is approaching, the trees shake their needles so that the animals, who also want to have their own Christmas, will notice them. They also decorate their trees - only we can\u2019t see it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Max\u00edk and Majka were in their room. I mean, they were sitting there. Max\u00edk was lying on the floor thrashing his legs, and Majka was tearing up some leaves and doing something with them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cAm I interrupting?\u201d came a voice from outside the window.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cKa\u0161kooo!\u201d they both shouted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cFriends, what are you doing here?\u201d Ka\u0161ko looked around.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cCan\u2019t you see?\u201d Max\u00edk and Majka spread their arms like the statue above Rio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\"I can see that you, Max\u00edk, are pretending to be a frog and Majka is preparing a lavish frog meal for you.\"<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\"Ka\u0161ko, do you remember last autumn when we sneezed through the whole thing?\" said Max\u00edk and immediately did two pull-ups.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\"I can\u2019t forget that. I didn\u2019t hear a sound for three days,\" Ka\u0161ko scratched his ears.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\"You didn\u2019t hear anything?\" Majka asked in surprise as she prepared herbal leaves for tea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI didn\u2019t hear anything because you were all sneezing and coughing and making so much noise that...\"<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWell, that\u2019s exactly what we want to avoid,\" they said, mixing the leaves and reading something in a recipe book while boiling water for tea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cBy playing frogs?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cNo, by exercising, taking care of our bodies and toughening ourselves up,\u201d Max\u00edk finished, and immediately did three push-ups, four hopscotch jacks, and then five jumping jacks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cToughening up with hot tea?\u201d laughed the ghost Ka\u0161ko.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThat\u2019s just the beginning,\u201c said Majka, pouring the tea and starting to time the infusion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWell, I don\u2019t know... we ghosts don\u2019t need to toughen up, but we know a ghost who knows all about toughening up,\u201c said Ka\u0161ko casually.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWho\u2019s that?\u201c asked Max\u00edk, and Majka was just picking the herbs out of the tea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cBenjamin.\u201c<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201eBenjamin?\u201c<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cUh-huh.\u201c<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWho\u2019s he?\u201c the siblings wanted to know more and took a sip of tea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cHe\u2019s my second cousin. But more importantly, he\u2019s the guardian of the secrets of paradise.\u201c<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201eThe secrets of paradise?\u201c Majka\u2019s eyes lit up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThere is a place in Haravara that has been a paradise for hardy souls for centuries - what centuries, millennia! And so, it is a paradise of secrets...\"\u2019 Ka\u0161ko didn't finish his sentence, because Majka interrupted him, already imagining a large spa. She opened her eyes and exclaimed in disbelief:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\"Really?\"<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\"First there was the sea. And that sea was quite cold,\" continued Ka\u0161ko.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\"The sea?\" asked Majka.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\"A few tens of millions of years ago, there was sea everywhere in Haravara.\"<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\"We learned that. He's right,\" confirmed Max\u00edk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\"So, our swimming ancestors swam in that sea, and in the Quaternary period, it cooled down a bit. It also cooled down in our paradise - and the first hardy people were mammoth hunters.\"<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\"And they left us drawings of how to harden ourselves - in the paradise cave!\" guessed Majka, looking forward to deciphering the old paintings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThat's possible, but we don't know about them yet.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cSo then?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThen settlements, villages and towns began to be built - but paradise is paradise.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cSo, there's still pure nature there,\u201d Majka understood.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cAnd lots of places to harden yourself,\u201d added Ka\u0161ko.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cAnd what about Benjamin? Where did he stay?\u201d asked Max\u00edk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cHe guards a mysterious ingredient for all hardy people, hidden in paradise,\u201d whispered Ka\u0161ko mysteriously.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cAnd what is that?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cFireweed.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWhat's that?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\"It's an ancient plant that Benjamin guards in a secret cave in Geravy - in the Haravara Paradise.\"<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\"Fireweed - I don't know that,\u2019 Majka searched her mental library.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\"Well, that's probably because it's secret,\u2019\" Ka\u0161ko tapped his forehead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Max\u00edk and Majka looked at each other, wondering if such a thing as a fireweed even existed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cAnd what is this fireweed supposed to do?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI don't know,\u201d Ka\u0161ko shrugged, \u201cbut Benjamin will surely tell us,\u201d he smiled and pointed to the open door.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\"So, we're going to paradise!\" both siblings shouted at once.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\"Only if you really want to learn how to toughen up,\" Ka\u0161ko slowed down his packing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\"Of course we want to!\"<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As soon as the children said this, Ka\u0161ko sat down contentedly on the window sill - as a ghost, he could do so - and Max\u00edk and Majka began to pack and get ready for the journey. When they were ready, they set off for the bus station. The bus took them to a village called... Dedinky. That's right. That was its name.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\"We're in paradise,\" Ka\u0161ko breathed freely as they got off the bus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\"It's really beautiful here,\" Max\u00edk and Majka breathed in the fresh air deeply.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\"And you don't even know what's waiting for you,\" Ka\u0161ko smiled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\"What?\"<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThis!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cA wooden house?\u201d Max\u00edk and Majka looked disappointedly at the older building - they had been expecting a spa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cBut not a wooden house!\u201d Ka\u0161ko snapped out of his reverie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cBut this is some kind of wooden house... just a little bigger,\u201d Max\u00edk looked around the building, trying to find something unusual about it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cLook what's coming out of that wooden house,\u201d Ka\u0161ko pointed to the hill.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\"A cable car!\" They stared in amazement at the cable car, which they had never seen before.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cAnd not just any cable car.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cBut an unusual one!\u201d Max\u00edk and Majka began to look forward to an adventure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cYou bet - that's the cable car from Dedinky to Geravy.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\"Is it pronounced \u201czheravy\u201d? asked Majka Ka\u0161ko, as she was taking French lessons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\"No, it's \u201cGeravy\u201d. <em>Geravy<\/em>.\u201c<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\"Oh,\u201cGeravy\u201d then.\" <em>Geravy<\/em>.\u201c<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cExactly.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\"What are we going to do there?\"<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\"That's where Benjamin lives.\"<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\"The keeper of secrets...\" whispered the children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\"Are you coming?\"<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But Ka\u0161ko suddenly noticed that his two siblings were looking at the cable car strangely, almost in awe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cYes?\u201d Ka\u0161ko looked around, trying to see what they were looking at.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThat's a cable car for just one person!\u201d they both exclaimed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cIt's the only single-seater cable car not only in Haravara - they have them far beyond the border.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cOkay, okay,\u201d Majka opened her eyes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cBut why is it a single-seater?\u201d Max\u00edk didn't understand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\"Have you ever seen anyone go to paradise on a tour?\" laughed Ka\u0161ko.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cNo, I haven't,\u201d admitted Majka.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cHave you, Max\u00edk?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cNo, I haven't either,\u201d Max\u00edk had to admit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cYou go to paradise one at a time.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cAnd is paradise up there?\u201d they looked in the direction where the cable car was climbing up the mountains.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph translation-block\">\u201cA paradise called Geravy...\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cLet's go then.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The children arrived at the cable car, bought tickets and sat down. Max was the first to get on - he looked around him and down at the beautiful forests and a kind of water reservoir. He felt like a bird.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Majka was a little scared at first, but when she saw Ka\u0161ko flying around her - after all, he didn't have to sit down - she stopped being afraid and also began to enjoy the heavenly view.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They ascended the hill and couldn't take their eyes off the view. Beautiful hills, exposed rocks that looked as if they had been carved by a strange sculptor, forests and animals running around. Someone had even started breeding strange animals such as emus here - they really felt like they were in paradise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">While the children were admiring the beauty of the place, Ka\u0161ko tapped out a melody on the stones sticking out of the rock opposite the hotel. It had been built for those who didn't want to leave paradise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI don't know, but I would give my ghostly powers to be somewhere like this,\u201d Ka\u0161ko tapped on the stones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cBut what?\u201d the children didn't understand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe place where Benjamin was called.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cYou're tapping in the right place, but the melody is wrong,\u201d came a voice suddenly from behind Ka\u0161ko.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\"Benjiii!\u201d Ka\u0161ko shouted enthusiastically.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cKa\u0161ko?\u201d Benjamin looked surprised. He really looked like a treasure guard - he was wearing a long coat, glasses, and a wide hat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI haven't seen you... well, more than 250 years.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201c289,\u201d Ka\u0161ko clarified.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2018What brings you here?\u2019 Benjamin kept looking at Ka\u0161ko while showing him the right melody to tap on the rocks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThese are my friends.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cGhosts - little ones?\u201d Benji looked at Majka and Max\u00edk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cNo, children,\u201d whispered Ka\u0161ko in his ear, and Benji almost fell on his bottom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cAnd they can see us?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThere are few of them in the world, but I found two in Haravara who can see ghosts,\u201d boasted Ka\u0161ko.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThat's great. And what do your friends need?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\"A common fireweed.\"<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\"Oh ... I don't know, I don't know...\" Benji began to hesitate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\"But you know, you know.\"<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\"I don't know, I don't know,\" Benji repeated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\"I know you know where it is,\" Ka\u0161ko looked seriously into his eyes.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\"I know... but we can't give it to people.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cNot even to those who see us?\u201d Ka\u0161ko tried.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWell..., I guess so,\u201d Benji began to think.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cIt's settled then,\u201d Majka and Max\u00edk sighed with relief.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cLet's go,\u201d Benji said resignedly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Benjamin led them deeper into the forest to a beautiful rock. You could have taught geology there for years - the layers of stones were so clearly visible, showing how the earth had worked with them over the ages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Benjamin began tapping on the rock... and nothing happened.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\"Huh, I haven't done that in a long time... Hardening up has become fashionable among people, but not among us, ghosts,\" Benji rubbed his forehead and pulled various percussion instruments out of his cloak.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cShall I help you?\u201d asked Max\u00edk timidly. He took out his drumsticks and, together with Benjamin, they began to tap out a melody.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Suddenly, the rock in front of them opened up - just like a window - and Benjamin's hand began to lengthen. It disappeared somewhere into the cave.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cAaaaaaaaaa, here it is!\u201d Benji announced happily to his friends, who just stared speechlessly at his stretching arm and held their breath.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In a moment, he was holding a strange purple flower with black stripes in his hands - it looked like it was wearing a football jersey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\"So, that's it?\" Ka\u0161ko examined it, while Majka and Max\u00edk were still thinking about all the things they could do with such a hand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\"A fireweed,\" Benji said triumphantly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\"And why is it called a fireweed?\" Majka finally asked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cBecause when you put it on, it creates a new wrinkle in your brain,\u201d explained Benji. He noticed that the children were a little scared, so he quickly added:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\"That always happens when we learn something new.\"<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\"Or find something out,\" added Ka\u0161ko.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cAnd now you'll get a tough paradise wrinkle!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cHmmmm... what's that?\u201d asked Max\u00edk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cYour eyes will start looking around and see all the possibilities for how you could toughen up,\u201d explained Benji.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cLet's do it!\u201d said Max\u00edk and chewed a flower.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Majka immediately followed him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Their eyes fluttered a little and they began to turn their heads around.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cDid you notice that water down there?\u201d said Max\u00edk, newly hardened.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThat water!\u201d cried Benjamin. \u201cThat's Palcmansk\u00e1 Ma\u0161a water reservoir!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cAnd that big brown thing next to it... was that her bear?\u201d laughed Majka. Max\u00edk and Ka\u0161ko laughed too - only Benji didn't laugh because he didn't know the fairy tale about Ms\u0161a and the Bear.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cIt would be a great place to toughen up,\u2019 Max\u00edk began to imagine.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cYou bet!\u201d agreed Benji. \u201cThe water in Palcmansk\u00e1 Ma\u0161a is the coldest not only in Haravara, but also far and wide in other lands. And it is also the highest water reservoir in the whole of Haravara.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWell, I don't know what we're waiting for,\u201d said Max\u00edk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\"Shall we go?\" Majka nudged the others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In a moment, they arrived at Palcmansk\u00e1 Ma\u0161a. Majka didn't feel like swimming yet - the water was really cold.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\"Do you know the Kr\u00e1\u013eova Ho\u013ea mountain?\" Benji asked after a while.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\"The hill in the land of Galimati\u00e1\u0161ovo?\" Ka\u0161ko recalled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cExactly,\u201d Benji agreed. \u201cWell, that's where the Hnilec River springs from, and it flows straight here, into Ma\u0161a.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cAha!
