It was already autumn outside. Ka\u0161ko was flying over the city, having fun shaking leaves off trees that couldn't fall on their own, and then blowing them in front of dogs and cats.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis is a great day for some Haravara adventures,\u201d he said, sitting down on a sturdy oak tree and thinking about what he could venture today. Suddenly, he found himself looking at the house where Max\u00edk and Majka lived, and he gazed toward their little apartment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhat's that?\u201d Ka\u0161ko couldn't believe his eyes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He saw something very strange in the little room, but he didn't know what it was, so he flew over to the window. When he sat down on his favourite windowsill, he couldn't believe his eyes. Majka and Max\u00edk had stretched a canvas on the wall, which their dad had fixed there for them - well, it was an old bed sheet, but it looked like a real canvas. The two siblings were walking around it, painting something, then they stepped back from the canvas and...<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHellooooooooooooooo!\u201d Ka\u0161ko shouted from behind the window.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Majka was so startled that she dropped the paint can on the floor, and Max\u00edk slipped on it and fell, leaving a big blue line across the entire painting with his paintbrush.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYou've made that, Ka\u0161ko,\u201d Max\u00edk hissed, checking to see if anything was broken.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI'm sorry, but I don't understand what you're doing here.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis is a map,\u201d Majka added, wiping the paint off the floor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cA map?\u201d Ka\u0161ko didn't understand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cA map of our secret city.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"I see.\"<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cToday is a day made for adventure,\u201d Max\u00edk began to explain, helping his sister wash the floor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThat's right,\u201d Ka\u0161ko's eyes lit up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAnd so, we said that since we can't experience anything really mysterious and adventurous, we'll make up a secret city.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOh.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAnd this is a map of that city.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cSo you would like to know about the secret city?\u201d Ka\u0161ko sat down on the table and swung his tail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cDo you know one?\u201d they both turned from the map to Ka\u0161ko.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cSeveral of them,\u201d Ka\u0161ko continued to swing his legs and peeked to see how the children were engaged in the idea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The children's eyes lit up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cEven one is enough!\u201d they shouted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWell, I don't know what we're waiting for!\u201d Ka\u0161ko flew up to the ceiling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe're just waiting for you!\u201d the children shouted, and by the time they had finished the first verse of their favourite song, they were packed and ready to go.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHow are we going?\u201d they asked in unison.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHoo hoo hoo hoo hoo hoo!\u201d hooted Ka\u0161ko.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAn owl?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cA train!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cBut that sounded like an owl... but a train is better.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cDid it really sound like an owl?\u201d asked Ka\u0161ko, trying to imitate the sound of a train all the way to the station. They got on the train and set off.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cKa\u0161ko, but this is Spi\u0161 Castle,\u201d said the children sadly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThat's right,\u201d replied Ka\u0161ko casually.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cBut this is a castle, not a lost city.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe're not going to the castle,\u201d said the little ghost from Haravara mysteriously.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cNo?\u201d Max and Majka looked around.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cDid I promise you a mysterious city?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYou did!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThen wait.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They walked a very short distance and found themselves in a fairy tale. But not just any fairy tale, a real, mysterious, beautiful fairy tale about giants. Encircling them stood large rocks that resembled castle towers, churches, houses, and...<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt's as if giants lived here,\u201d whispered the children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cGiants used to live here,\u201d whispered Ka\u0161ko in their ears.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cGiants?\u201d they slowed down.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYou bet.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAre they still here?\u201d whispered Majka.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cNot anymore,\u201d Ka\u0161ko said sadly, and Majka and Max\u00edk sighed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhy are you so sad?\u201d Max\u00edk didn't understand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cGiants were great friends.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOf course they were,\u201d the children laughed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHave you ever ridden on a giant's back?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cNo,\u201d Majka protested.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOr have you ever played soccer with giants?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cNo, never.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThey had such a big goal that you always scored,\u201d Ka\u0161ko smiled slyly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAnd yours was small because you were small, right?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAnd since the ball was huge, you always won.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThat's right, my giants,\u201d sighed Ka\u0161ko.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cKa\u0161ko, but where is this city?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHere,\u201d Ka\u0161ko stopped.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cBut these are just rocks.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAnd you're just children,\u201d Ka\u0161ko said a little mockingly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ka\u0161ko suddenly pulled out a strange whistle - he blew it, and figures of various ghosts began to emerge from the stone towers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWho's calling us?\u201d echoed from all sides.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt's me, Ka\u0161ko!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cKa\u0161ko?!\u201d cried the ghosts. \u201cWhy are you calling us?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI have friends here.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cPeople?\u201d The ghosts stopped and began to look threatening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cChildren who can see ghosts,\u201d explained Ka\u0161ko.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOh, that's different.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAnd they would very much like to see the mysterious city of ghosts.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cDo you think we can show it to them?\u201d asked the ghost with a big beard and glasses like Harry Potter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThey are the best children who have lived here in the last 286 years \u2013 since the time of Gertrude and Frederick.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWho were they?\u201d whispered Majka.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cNot now,\u201d laughed Ka\u0161ko mysteriously \u2013 and then it happened. One of the ghosts began to sing a ghost song and the others joined in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cJoin in,\u201d whispered Ka\u0161ko.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Max\u00edk and Majka began to sing, and then the stone hills turned into towers and houses. There was hustle and bustle everywhere and beautiful buildings \u2013 completely different from ours. Everything was beautifully colored and cozy, with hammocks hanging in the air and...<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt's so beautiful,\u201d Majka couldn't believe her eyes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis, children, is Dreven\u00edk.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cDreven\u00edk?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThat's the name people gave to this place, but we ghosts call it the secret town of Haravara ghosts - Hamed\u00fata.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHamed\u00fata?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt's short for Haravara secret town of ghosts.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOh, so it's the reverse of your name for the town!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cCome and enjoy yourselves!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The children spent a wonderful day in Dreven\u00edk \u2013 they flew around the houses with the ghosts, slid down a 200-metre-long slide, and even visited the ghost observation tower.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHere we watch the people who come to Dreven\u00edk for tourism \u2013 look, here come some more of them.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The ghosts enjoyed watching people admire the beautiful stone structures and the magnificent nature \u2013 completely unaware that ghosts were watching them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt's beautiful,\u201d whispered Majka.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt's a shame that we humans don't have such a mysterious town...\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cBut you do,\u201d Ka\u0161ko said through clenched teeth, because he had a blade of grass between them and was just tossing it around in his mouth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe do?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOf course.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhere?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cNot far from here,\u201d Ka\u0161ko said, looking toward the children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"What?\"<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cMiloj.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cMiloj who?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cMiloj is the name of the place - and the town,\u201d he said, immediately getting up from the ground.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI've never heard of a town like that.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt's actually a small village... or it used to be a village... but actually... you know what - let's go there!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since they had spent quite a long time in Dreven\u00edk, they flew to Miloj with Ka\u0161ko's help, using his flying herbs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cBefore we go to Miloj, we have to stop and pick up a magical item in \u017dehra.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAs you say.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a short while, they were standing at the foot of a hill with quite a few steps, and at the top stood one of the most beautiful little churches they had ever seen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI've never seen a church like this before,\u201d said Majka, unable to take her eyes off the church.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt's really beautiful,\u201d confirmed Max\u00edk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt's one of the oldest churches in Haravara - and not just in Haravara, but far and wide.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOh,\u201d said the brother and sister, looking at each other.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cBut most importantly, it's the only church in Haravara - and in other countries - that has remained unchanged for several hundred years.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAwesome,\u201d Max\u00edk enthused.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cLet's go!\u201d Majka shouted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cSlowly.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe'll proceed with care...\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cEveryone who wants to see the secret town of Miloj must first slowly climb these 93 steps,\u201d Ka\u0161ko began.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAnd?\u201d His companions didn't understand what the problem was.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cEach step must be felt by both of your feet,\u201d Ka\u0161ko continued.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cSo we have to jump on them?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOr step with both feet on the step.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cSure. And then?\u201d They were burning with impatience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAnd then walk around the wall that was built around the church.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI don't understand why there are walls around churches.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhere were the churches?\u201d Ka\u0161ko asked teacher-like.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOn a hill,\u201d Max and Majka answered in unison, just like in class.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhen someone attacked a village or a town, the people would go and hide in the largest building in the village or town.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIn the church,\u201d the pupils understood.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAnd to make it harder for the soldiers to conquer it...\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cSo they fortified it,\u201d Max\u00edk interrupted Ka\u0161ko.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cExactly.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The children followed Ka\u0161ko up the ninety-three steps and stood in front of a low wall behind which stood a beautiful little church. It looked like a cap that a giant or a giant angel could put on his head. They walked around the wall and entered the church area through the gate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhat now?\u201d Max\u00edk tapped his foot impatiently on the ground.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cLet's go inside.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When they entered, they almost fell over.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cKa\u0161ko, this isn't a church, it's a gallery!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cEvery church used to be painted like this,\u201d Ka\u0161ko thought, \u201cbut not as beautifully.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The children went to admire the paintings on the walls, which depicted various figures and creatures. Some of them were quite strange - like a weird lion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHere it is,\u201d Ka\u0161ko announced.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhat is this?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe Tree of Life.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOh.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIf we touch the right leaves on this Tree of Life, we should get something...\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhat something?\u201d Majka couldn't wait.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI don't know,\u201d whispered Ka\u0161ko, \"but something that will enable us to see the mysterious town\", searching for the right leaves on the fresco.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The children followed Ka\u0161ko to the Tree of Life, each found the most beautiful leaf, and waited. Suddenly, the church grew a little darker \u2013 and then the strange lion on the wall began to move. It roared and pointed to a stone pot standing in the church, then disappeared.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhat could be in that pot?\u201d Little Majka was so curious she couldn't breathe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt's not just any pot, it's a stone baptismal font.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"Did they put babies in it when they were baptized?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cBack then, they didn't baptize babies, but older people,\u201d explained Ka\u0161ko, pulling three drums out of the baptismal font.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhat's this?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI get it!\u201d exclaimed Ka\u0161ko \u2013 and off they flew.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAre we there yet, Ka\u0161ko?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYes - isn't it beautiful?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cBut this isn't a city. Not even a town... not even a village,\u201d his friends looked around disappointedly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cNow there's just one little church spire.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIs this spire the only thing left of this village?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cNow the ghosts use it when they fly over Haravara,\u201d Ka\u0161ko explained.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cTo rest?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cNo, as a sundial,\u201d Ka\u0161ko shook his head.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cGreat. And what about us?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe'll play the drums.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAs you say.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All three sat down by a beautiful little tower that looked as if it had grown out of the ground \u2013 like the Tree of Life in the little church in \u017dehra.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhy are we playing?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe're invoking rain.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cRain?\u201d Max and Majka didn't understand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThey say that the people in Miloj were evil, and that's why all their houses sank into the ground.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThen we shouldn't make them angry!\u201d Majka said, frightened.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cBut the truth is that one year the river dried up, there was little rain, and a vast drought began...\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAnd the people started leaving their houses, right?\u201d Ka\u0161ka quickly interrupted Majka and they continued playing their drums.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cExactly. And Mother Nature and the ghosts, who were already using this tower as a sundial, got a bit angry at the people - and made their houses disappear underground.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAnd they got a great sundial.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cExactly.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As they were playing, the first drops fell on their noses. And before they knew it, it started to rain. Several houses and cottages appeared around the beautiful tower. The children walked around them, Ka\u0161ko circled them, and they didn't stop playing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cStop!\u201d shouted Ka\u0161ko, but it was too late. It started raining so hard that water began to run down the tower.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe've ruined it...\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cLet's hide!\u201d shouted Majka and ran off toward the woods.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cBut where?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cTo the bunker!\u201d said Ka\u0161ko, pointing in the opposite direction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cLet's build a bunker?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThere's one nearby.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cA bunker?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cA military bunker.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWow...\u201d Max's eyes widened.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A moment later, they were standing next to a wooden bunker. Well, it was only wooden on the outside. Inside, it was a normal underground bunker, where various military equipment is now on display. But most importantly, you can learn everything about how soldiers were treated in such bunkers during the war.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis bunker hasn't been here long - not even a hundred years - but it's a great place.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYeah - when it's pouring outside like this!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And when your fingers hurt from playing the drums...<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The children looked at their fingers - they were all red from playing the drums and invoking rain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the bunker, they found military bandages, ointments, and... and it stopped raining.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When the children were falling asleep at night and looked up at the sky, they couldn't close their eyes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cMax\u00edk?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYes?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhat if that cloud is a secret town too?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cMaybe it is.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe have to go to Dreven\u00edk and Miloj and \u017dehra to get Mom and Dad there.\u201d
\u201cWe have to.\u201d The siblings promised each other, and their eyes slowly began to close as they\ndreamed about the adventures they had experienced that day.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ten sa zo sk\u00e1l a kopcov pred ich o\u010dami premen\u00ed na \u010darovn\u00e9 mesto duchov menom Haravary \u2013 Hamed\u00fata. Duchovia ich priv\u00edtaj\u00fa, ke\u010f Ka\u0161ko vysvetl\u00ed, \u017ee deti ich naozaj vidia. V meste duchov si u\u017eij\u00fa lietanie, \u0161m\u00fdkanie po obrovskej \u0161m\u00fdka\u010dke aj poh\u013ead z rozh\u013eadne, ktorou duchovia pozoruj\u00fa turistov.<\/p>\n

Po n\u00e1dhernom dni sa vydaj\u00fa na \u010fal\u0161ie miesto \u2013 do dedinky Miloj. No e\u0161te predt\u00fdm sa zastavia v \u017dehre, kde ich \u010dak\u00e1 d\u00f4le\u017eit\u00e9 k\u00fazlo.
\nSpolu nav\u0161t\u00edvia Jahodn\u00fa, kde sa nau\u010dia hra\u0165 discgolf, potom sa presun\u00fa na Alpinku \u2013 miesto pln\u00e9 ihr\u00edsk, lanov\u00fdch parkov a z\u00e1bavy. Zvez\u00fa sa parn\u00fdm vl\u00e1\u010dikom Katka, objavia drezinu, vysk\u00fa\u0161aj\u00fa si Tarzaniu aj indi\u00e1nske t\u00edp\u00ed. Ich dobrodru\u017estvo vrchol\u00ed v botanickej z\u00e1hrade v Ko\u0161iciach, kde v tajnom herb\u00e1ri n\u00e1jdu z\u00e1zra\u010dn\u00fa rastlinku \u2013 vzn\u00e1\u0161ajn\u00ed\u010dek najoby\u010dajnej\u0161\u00ed, ktor\u00fd im umo\u017en\u00ed lieta\u0165.<\/p>\n
