How else than a princess. In a gorgeous pink and snow-white dress with a hairstyle that charmed at least three princes. Her hair clips were the envy of all the other princesses at the ball. The most handsome prince had just gotten up and was about to ask her to dance when she heard a strange sound outside the castle windows. Whistling, croaking, coughing. Majka slowly opened her eyes and looked around the room. She saw nothing but Max\u00edk's tired and frightened eyes shining.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\"I was just playing the most beautiful song when someone started hissing and grunting.\"&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\"You hear that too?\" Majka asked, a little frightened.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\"I can hear that.\" Max\u00edk confirmed, \"but listen well. The sound is getting louder...\"  \"It's like it's getting closer to our window,\" whispered Majka, slowly moving closer to the window.<br>MAJKA: \"Look there!\" \nShe shouted in a whisper, pointing her finger to show Max\u00edk the window.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Max\u00edk quickly walked over to the window and looked out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\"Open it now, Majka!\"<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The children opened the window as fast as they could.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Something wrapped in three blankets, two coats, ten scarves and shawls with five thermometers in its mouth and six caps on its head fell into the room.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\"Ka\u0161ko?!\" Max\u00edk whispered in disbelief.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\"What are you doing?\" Majka shouted, and immediately went silent, so as not to wake her mom and dad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\"Have you invented a new night game?\"&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ka\u0161ko remained silent. I mean, not silent, but grunting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\"This one didn't work out for you,\" Ka\u0161ko scolded Max\u00edk<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\"Zzzzz, zzzzzzzzzz, uh, uh, uh,\" came from Ka\u0161ko's mouth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\"What?\" the children asked in unison.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ka\u0161ko cleared his throat and took the thermometers out of his mouth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\"Wait, I'm just going to clear my throat and get some rest.\" Ka\u0161ko took a breath and started, \"I'm sick!\"<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\"Do ghosts know how to get sick, too?\" Majka wondered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Meanwhile, Max\u00edk was trying to see if Ka\u0161ko had a temperature rise.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\"This thermometer says your temperature is 64.50,\" Max\u00edk stated, checking the thermometer again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\"That's still cool. We ghosts have a normal temperature of 55.20, so we don't get cold when we fly,\" Ka\u0161ko replied and coughed again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\"But how is ghostly sore throat treated?\" Majka asked, a little frightened.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\"Special tea,\" whispered the sickly little ghost, pulling from his pocket an old piece of paper with a prescription on it that had no letters, but herbs and apparatus and teapots drawn on it. The whole procedure was drawn like a comic book.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">MAX: \"Phew,\" Max\u00edk sighed worriedly, \"where are we going to find all this?\"<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\"Hmmm,\" Majka joined in, \"Mom probably won't have this in the kitchen.\"<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\"I don't know. I haven't been sick for more than 825 years,\" Ka\u0161ko sobbed. \"But Grandma has been sick recently. About 300 years ago. And we got her these things...\"<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ka\u0161ko paused and the children opened their mouths in anticipation of some exotic place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\"... in Bor\u0161a!\" Ka\u0161ko's eyes lit up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\"Bor\u0161a? What's that?\"<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\"A small village. Here in Haravara. There should be a rare cookbook and Anka Bornemisz's medical briefcase. In it, you'll find everything I need.\"<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\"But how do we get there?\"<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\"If those things are still there and if the old manor house in Bor\u0161a is still standing, then we have to make the infusion there,\" Ka\u0161ko reflected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\"I never wanted to use this, but there's no other way,\" he reached into one of his pockets. \"Take two leaves,\" he handed them some kind of herb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The children ate the herbs and .... nothing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\"Nothing?\" Ka\u0161ko laughed. \"We'll see! He grabbed his friends, and off they flew. The sun had risen in Haravara in that time and there were plenty of cars and people below them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\"There it is! Do you believe this?!\"<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They landed in front of a magnificent mansion with a courtyard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\"I thought it had already fallen apart since Ferko is no longer here.\"<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\"Who?\"<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\"Franti\u0161ek R\u00e1koczy....the second. A great man. A fighter, a rebel, but he also wrote beautiful poems. Have you seen the wreath that's on St. Elizabeth's Cathedral in Ko\u0161ice? It's there because Ferko is buried on that very spot under the church. And you can also find his statue in the city.\"<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\"It's beautiful,\" Majka dreamed. She closed her eyes a little to finish the dream from which Ka\u0161ko had awakened her, and then she heard her brother scream.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\"Watch out! Don't you see that!?\"<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">She opened her eyes and saw people walking past them and Max\u00edk avoiding them. They look as if they didn't see them. A little dog came up to Majka and when she petted him, poor thing, he almost contracted a heart attack.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\"What's going on?\" Majka threw up her hands in amazement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\"What, are they all blind?\" Max\u00edk fretted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\"No, just no one sees you. I gave you a yellow-leafed stopper. An herb that makes you invisible for a few hours. Well, come on, 'cause I think my temperature's already 98.45.\"<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They entered the mansion and split up. Everyone went to look elsewhere. Ka\u0161ko walked slowly and sickly around the big canopy and remembered little Franti\u0161ek R\u00e1koczy, who was born here. When he saw his toys and clothes, he sat down for a moment and remembered the hustle and bustle of that time. Horses everywhere, servants, entertainments... And suddenly, in one of the windows, he actually saw horse-drawn carriages coming in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\"That's exactly how it was,\" Ka\u0161ko sighed as he looked at the screen in the window that showed life in the mansion. \"Only L\u00e1szlo, Gergey, and Ilonka were still in this gate.\" He searched all the corners once more and moved on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Majka glanced at the dresses worn here in the castle and studied a few of Franti\u0161ek's books that lay on the table. All the visitors marvelled at the technical difficulty of the display as they saw the pages of the book turn by themselves. It was like magic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Max\u00edk went through the weapons room and through the small prison and found it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But the case was behind glass. All the herbs, flasks, prescriptions, and sachets were hanging behind glass or hidden in drawers.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Max\u00edk took a whistle out of his backpack and began to play one of the tunes he had seen in notes in the museum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"> \"At at at atchoo,\" sneezed Ka\u0161ko heavily, \" how do you know that?\"<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\"How do I know what?\" Max\u00edk wondered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\"That this was Francis' favorite song.\"<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\"I saw it written in the sheet music and it was also played in a room,\" Max\u00edk explained.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\"There he is!\" Ka\u0161ko's eyes lit up, and then Majka walked into the room.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\"Guys, hurry up, there are more tourists coming in a minute.\"<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\"Wait, let me read the prescription... Put three pinches of pike powder, five pinches of bean powder, four drops of dragon's blood in the pot. After three minutes of boiling, add the bloodstone. Finally, into the rising smoke, sing a song. The three frogs must join in the singing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Dragon's blood and dragon's beard<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">herbs and fire heat<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They'll cure you, dear little ghost,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">you'll be a superstar again.\"<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\"Okay, okay, but how are we going to cook it here? The tourists will come, the lady guide, and what is worse, we could set the place on fire,\" Max\u00edk mused.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\"And you forgot that we shouldn't be playing with fire at all. We're still children,\" Majka said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\"And where do we get three frogs here?\"<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"> \"I have an idea. There was a beautiful forest with swamps not far from here. Let's take it all there, cook it, and bring it back,\" Ka\u0161ko suggested.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The children agreed and Ka\u0161ko showed them what to take. After a while they flew towards Obor\u00edn, where Ka\u0161ko remembered the marshes, the forest, the meadows....<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\"But these sidewalks and boardwalks and signs weren't here.\"<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Beautiful nature was all around them. A forest and a swamp. Birds and frogs were singing. There were even more insects flying around than elsewhere.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\"Look, there's a nature trail now.\"<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"> \"What's a nature trail?\" Majka asked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\"Well, this is a trail that goes through an interesting countryside. And when you walk along it, you learn something,\" Max\u00edk explained.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\"You explained it well,\" Ka\u0161ko praised Max\u00edk and coughed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\"What's that on your forehead?\" Majka asked, startled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ka\u0161ko grabbed his forehead and felt a large hot lump.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\"Here we go! The fever has exceeded 100 degrees. Let's go cook!\"<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\"Wait, but you can't just make a fire here and cook or roast.\"<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\"But everything I need is here, even the frogs,\" sobbed Ka\u0161ko and sat down in the grass next to the green swamp.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Max\u00edk pulled out a small drum and a shaker, Majka unpinned one hairpin from her hair and made a drumstick out of it, a few frogs poked their heads out of the swamp. First, they caught and swallowed three mayflies and a dragonfly, the frogs use this to strengthen their voices, and then they began to sing. The frogs saw them, for the yellow-leaved hawkweed makes man and ghost invisible only to the human eye. You probably know that animals have better eyes and ears and legs and... Come to Obor\u00edn and you'll see why.   Ka\u0161ko cleared his throat three times, sneezed four times and ran:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\"Dragon's blood and dragon's beard,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">herbs and fire heat<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They'll cure you, dear little ghost,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">you'll be a superstar again.\"<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As he was singing, he stood up and walked along the wooden paths through the swamp. He walked and walked. Before each song, he took a deep breath&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\"Look, Max\u00edk, at Ka\u0161ko's forehead,\" Majka whispered to her brother.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\"He's lost his bump, and look, he's put off the scarves and coats, too.\"<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ka\u0161ko suddenly turned to them. He had his merry eyes back.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He put all the blankets on the ground, and they all sat down so that they could see the beauty around them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\"Did the song work?\" Max\u00edk asked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\"Maybe,\" Ka\u0161ko smiled mysteriously. \"I remembered how we treated our grandmother. We also gave her herbs and all sorts of things. Nothing helped, not even magic formulas. Everything started to work only when we went with her to the countryside, breathed the fresh air, let the sun caress us and opened our ears.\"<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\"Did you open their ears?\" Majka looked at Ka\u0161ko in surprise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\"Hushshsh\" Ka\u0161ko put a finger to his mouth, put his hands behind his head and lay down in the grass.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Above them in the treetops, there sat little birds singing:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\"Dragon's blood and dragon's beard,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">herbs on the neck, abdomen<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They'll cure you, dear little ghost,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">just in the fresh, crisp air.\"<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Majka and Max\u00edk lay down in the grass next to Ka\u0161ko.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\"They're right, the feathered little beasts,\" laughed Ka\u0161ko.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\"True, very true,\" Majka confirmed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\"Are you all okay?\" echoed behind their heads.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They looked behind them. There stood a group of children who had come to walk along the nature trail in the marshes of Obor\u00edn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\"Can you see us?\" Majka blurted out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\"Well, it's not night. And you're not invisible either,\" laughed the children from the trip.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\"We're not,\" Max\u00edk sighed and winked at Majka.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\"We're coming. We were just listening to that beautiful singing. Close your eyes and listen.\"<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">All the children and their teachers closed their eyes and listened to the birds singing. They started to smile strangely.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ka\u0161ko took blankets, scarves, hats, Max\u00edk, Majka, and flew home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When the kids from the trip opened their eyes, they were looking for our siblings, but they were already at home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\"Thank you, my friends. You saved my ghostly life,\" Ka\u0161ko said pathetically on the windowsill.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\"We thank you,\" Majka looked gratefully at Ka\u0161ko.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\"Once again, we have found some beautiful sitees in our Haravara country,\" Max\u00edk added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\"And tomorrow we'll take Mom and Dad there, too,\" Majka added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\"But not until tomorrow. Tonight, we must sleep through the night,\" Max\u00edk said, and even as he said it, he lay down in bed and was almost asleep by the end of the sentence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Majka was already asleep too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ka\u0161ko sat on the windowsill and sang them a magic song.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\"Dragon's blood and dragon's beard<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">herbs and fire heat<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">your friends will cure you,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">but now sleep well.\"<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p> \u201eOkolo \u010cane \u017eili najlep\u0161ie mamuty v celej krajine Haravara.
